You will find this premise emphasized in the 27th verse of the Wisdom of the Tao written 2,500 years ago. While varying translations and transliterations exist, we&#8217;ve borrowed one version of the 27th verse below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A knower of the truth<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">travels without leaving a trace,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">speaks without causing harm,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">gives without keeping an account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The door that shuts, though having no lock,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">will not open.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The knot he ties, though using no cord,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">cannot be undone.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1000\" style=\"width: 197px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1000\" class=\" wp-image-1000\" title=\"The Traveler\" src=\"https:\/\/mgrush.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/the-traveler.png?w=300\" alt=\"Content Neutrality \u2014 Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Bubbles\" width=\"187\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mgrush.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/the-traveler.png 561w, https:\/\/mgrush.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/the-traveler-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 187px) 100vw, 187px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1000\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;Leave Only Bubbles&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Be wise and help all being impartially,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">abandoning none.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Waste no opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This is called following the light.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What is a good man but a bad man&#8217;s teacher?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What is a bad man but a good man&#8217;s job?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If the teacher is not respected<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">and the student is not cared for,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">confusion will arise, however clever one is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This is the great secret.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Role of Remaining a Neutral and Contextual Master<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The role of facilitator is captured by both the knower and the teacher, of context. The shut door represents preventing scope creep. The tied knot represents connection and consensus. Meaning, not one&#8217;s &#8220;favorite&#8221; necessarily, but at a high enough standard that participants will support it professionally and not lose any sleep over it personally. Helping all suggests the innovative potential that exists by embracing heterogeneity.
