With facilitation<\/i>\u00a0today there is no common, shared body of knowledge. In part, because facilitation<\/i> is a fuzzy word and widely applied, there is no single definition — making Facilitation Certification\u00a0fuzzy as well.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

In North America, there are three primary methods for certifying<\/i> professional skills<\/a> and knowledge. None of the methods is necessarily superior or inferior when compared with each other.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Association<\/strong>; e.g., Project Management Institute, Scrum Alliance, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Service Provider<\/strong>; e.g., Microsoft\u00ae<\/sup>, Oracle\u00ae<\/sup>, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. University<\/strong>; e.g., Georgetown University, UCLA, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    First, consider the credibility of a facilitation<\/i> certification:<\/span><\/h3>\n
