This is especially beneficial for developing visions of the business, system, or organization. The <i>Creativity<\/i> tool should also be used when defining, especially complex products or processes.<\/h2>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><b>Creativity Tool Method<\/b><\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1733\" style=\"width: 411px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1733\" class=\"wp-image-1733 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mgrush.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/creativity-tool-example-e1558209597471.png\" alt=\"Use the Creativity Tool to Launch Ideation When Brainstorming\" width=\"401\" height=\"500\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1733\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Creativity Tool Example<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The <i>Creativity<\/i> tool allows each team to draw pictorial answers to a specific question or to provide solutions for a specific scenario. Additionally, the <i>Creativity<\/i>\u00a0tool\u00a0frequently takes less time than narrative capture. If you use the\u00a0<i>Creativity<\/i>\u00a0tool early during the workshop, you can mount visually stimulating wallpaper that participants will refer to later. Since teams rather than individuals generate the results, you provide timid participants permission to speak freely by enabling them to defend or explain what their teams created. Complete the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Divide the group into smaller teams of three to five people.\u00a0 Watch the mix of people\u2014plan how you want to mix them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Explain what they will be doing and provide a visual prompt of the question(s) that need to be answered.\u00a0 Examples:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Draw a picture of how the organization looks today.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Illustrate\u00a0how you would like the organization or system to look in the future.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Draw your vision of where you are going with the business or system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">(<i>illustrative<\/i>) Provide answers to the question, \u201cWhat do you expect to get out of this workshop?\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">You can use one or more of the above examples or your own. Therefore, if you have the teams draw pictures of both today and the future, you empower them with the ability to compare and contrast.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Provide a time limit, flip chart paper, and colored markers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">When finished, have each team present their drawing(s). Consider using the <i>Bookend<\/i> tool for identifying commonalities and items that may be extremely unique. Keep the drawings mounted on the wall and do NOT mark on them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Separately, capture their narrative explanations and feedback and confirm that the narrative reflections are accurate and complete.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Creativity Tool <\/b><b>Notes<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The\u00a0<i>Creativity<\/i>\u00a0tool is powerful in drawing out beliefs and ideas.
